No One Left Behind
MVFF has chosen to take a different direction in our continuing (more than 15 years) work with veterans. We have a vision for expanding our program and removing some of the prior restrictions to our programs by administering them independently. The new branding of our effort is No One Left Behind.
We will also maintain our excellent relationship with the Dayton VA and expect to generate referrals from the VA and club members. Additionally, we anticipate our social media outreach will also engage veterans who could benefit from a community that truly embraces fishing and each other. Our commitment to introducing veterans to the healing power of fly fishing is unwavering. We expect No One Left Behind to be a joyful and healing program.
Our new project will include two primary components: fly tying and boots on the ground fishing because all of us know that the tug is the drug that keeps us coming back to this amazing sport. To support this new initiative, we will continue to carry a line item within the MVFF budget for veterans services and facilitate fund raising as necessary.

MetroParks Volunteering
Five Rivers MetroParks has created a special user group just for the MVFF club members who are volunteers. MVFF members – use the link below and fill out the info. Once you are all set as a volunteer, it’ll be easy to see when a request comes up and if it is something you can or want to do.
So now when there is a program where there is a need for volunteers with specialized skills – like for fly fishing/casting/tying – MetroParks can post the need and it will go out to those who have signed up as a volunteer and they will get the notice that there is a need.
